If you are like many other technology professionals trying to set the right PC repair prices, you probably don’t know where to start.

Your PC repair prices should be consistent among your entire client base and high enough so your prices are competitive with other PC repair businesses in your area. But you also have to make sure you give discounts to get your foot in the door with new customers, so you can lead them towards signing contracts with you for long-term, on-going services. When you set your prices for initial projects with new customers right, you pave the way for strong relationships that can sustain your business long term.

The following 3 tips can help you set your PC repair prices for initial projects so you can build relationships with new customers.

1) Use Your Hourly Rate as a Guide to Setting PC Repair Prices. For initial work you do with new customers, you will probably spend about two or three hours on site and another hour or so back at your PC repair shop writing up a report summarizing work done and suggested next steps. Determine your PC repair prices for initial projects based on your average hourly billing rate. As an example, if for basic on-site service you are charging $95 per hour and you anticipate that for an initial project you will spend about five hours on-site, your first paid project should be worth a little under $500.

2) Don’t Bill the Full Amount for Initial Projects. While you may have discovered that based on your hourly rate, that initial project will be worth just under $500, you want to round down and offer discounts to new customers on PC repair prices to get your foot in the door. You don’t need to bill your very first paid work with new customers at your full rate. You want to give new prospective customers with whom you hope to have a long-term agreement some comfort. You want new prospective customers to know they can afford your services, and you’re not just trying to run up a huge bill. You want new prospective customers to know that you care about solving their IT problems. Your initial project may take a few hours, and you will likely spend another hour or so coming up with a coherent recommendations report on what your new customers need. Don’t give away expertise for free, but also don’t try to recover your typical PC repair prices on your first project.

3) New Customer Discounting Can Really Pay Off Long Term. Your goal with setting PC repair prices at the beginning is to get prospects to prove they will spend money on your services. The important goal of your initial project is to make the sale and start a real relationship. If you establish that an initial project is worth a little under $500, for example, think about discounting that to $250-$350. The key thing is to do initial work at fixed PC repair prices, and start to build trust and a relationship with new customers.

In this short article we discussed 3 tips to help you set PC repair prices for initial projects with new customers. Learn more about how you can get great, steady, high-paying clients with appropriate PC repair prices now at http://www.PCRepairPriceSecrets.com

Before you fix registry glitches of your computer, thank John Presper Eckert and John Mauchly who designed the electronic computers during World War II. You also have to thank the cold war. That’s more than fifty years back. Your grandma was a baby then. How time flies! Now you are scouring fix registry tips and she’s learning along with you too.

The Internet circa 1950s-1960s (it was not called this by that time) was restricted to the country’s defense communication system. The invention of the WWW in 1989 by Englishman Tim Berners-Lee in Switzerland changed the electronic communication landscape forever. The Internet and the computers invaded all institutions, homes, and everybody’s way of life. Inside the classroom, the computer and the Internet is KING. Homework is easier and faster to do because you can do your research at home and online. Teachers can teach more effectively with the use of computers.

Schoolwork requires you to search online, download files, and save a lot of information. The PC registry is your PC’s database that records every move you make on the computer. Over time, your PC registry becomes cluttered with this information and your PC slows down. What a bummer. You have to learn to fix registry problems quick before you lose your patience.

A clue that your registry is malfunctioning is the disappearance of some buttons. You can’t find the start button. You are also starting to get messages that the registry is corrupted. A corrupted registry means your Windows operating system is dying, or worse, has already died.

Know your software to fix registry ailments. You can suggest this to friends and teachers who are also having the same problem with their PCs. Here are tips you can use on your school computers:

1. Check the computers’ windows.

2. Reboot accordingly if it’s a Vista, XP, 2000, or 98.

3. Delete software that has not been completely uninstalled by using the PC feature called Add/Remove Programs.

4. Change hardware options that have been running installed and uninstalled programs.

5. Remove spyware that has covertly embedded itself in the systems.

6. Check back-up and try to restore it to life.

7. Defragment the system.

8. Have the registry compacted, cleaned, and optimized.

9. Get an expert technician to do the job if you don’t know how to edit the registry.

Another fix registry tip is to restore the system using the scanreg command (Windows 9x/ME systems) with the restore button from the MS-DOS mode. You will be able to check the registry backups.

It is not easy to be a pro, but with constant reading and the help of available software, you’ll do fine. Your classmates will line up to have their fix registry problems solved by the expert – YOU.

How to speed up my PC? A registry cleaner is the answer! Registry cleaners are one of the fastest ways to get more speed on your PC, whether it is three years old or six months old, a registry scan and clean can produce some amazing results. You should always look at the reviews of the registry cleaner before you buy it. You want to look for a registry cleaner that has both pros and cons, but overall has lived up to its reputation. Do not purchase a registry cleaner that has glowing reviews as it is most likely a scam.

Once you have purchased the registry cleaner, install it on your computer. You should then restart, and then make a backup of your registry. In order to make a backup of your registry, click on start, run, type in “regedit” then hit enter. Now go to file, select export and save the file to external media such as a USB stick. Now you can run the registry scan. This process may take a few moments, so feel free to stand up, walk around, and do whatever you wish while the scan is running. After the scan has finished, check the list of infections and problems for anything that looks legitimate. Sometimes, registry cleaners can report false positives, files that you actually will need in order to keep your computer running. After you have removed the false positives, you can allow the registry cleaning program to take care of the rest of the problems and infections. It will now prompt, or automatically restart your computer. This will allow the registry to clear those errors for good, and restart in a clean condition. You should notice an extreme improvement in speed, due to the reduced size of the registry.

How to speed up my PC? Maybe your computer is not quite as fast as you have wished. There are a few things that you can do after having already done a registry cleanup. Try to defragment your computer’s hard drive. This groups your computers files together, and will save time when you are switching programs, or files. Disk cleanup is another useful tool. It can help you increase the amount of disk space on your computer by deleting files in the recycle bin, temporary internet files and other unnecessary files.

How to speed up my PC? If all of these different tricks have not worked, and you have run an anti-virus and spyware program to remove infections, it may be time to take a look at your systems processes. Many of these are not necessary to operate your computer, and can be disabled. There are several guides available that tell you which ones are necessary, and which are not. Make sure you are careful, as disabling the wrong process can cause serious damage to your computer.

When you are trying to speed up your PC, you will need a registry cleaner that has been proven to remove all of the infections and problems on your computer. Do not use false knockoffs, or free versions as they will cause further damage to your computer!

This is a common start up error that appeared on the screen while booting the computer running on a Windows Platform. This error may occur due to number of reason. There are number of article on computer support websites and other online computer support forums.

Many times this error is caused when the computer is attempting to boot from a non-bootable floppy disk or CD-ROM. First verify that no floppy diskette is in the computer, unless you are attempting to boot from a diskette. If you are attempting to boot from a floppy diskette and are receiving this error message it is likely that the diskette does not have all the necessary files and/or is corrupt. If you are attempting to install Windows XP or Windows 2000 and are receiving this error message as the computer is booting verify that your computer BIOS has the proper boot settings. For example, if you are attempting to run the install from the CD-ROM make sure the CD-ROM is the first boot device, and not the hard disk drive.

This error has also been known to occur when a memory stick is in a card reader and the computer is attempting to boot from it. If you have any type of card reader or flash reader make sure that no memory stick is inside the computer. Verify that your computer hard disk drive is properly setup in the BIOS / CMOS setup. Improper settings can cause this error.Screen shots are available for different BIOS on various computer support websites and other online computer support forums.

Another cause for this problem might be the Corrupt NTLDR and/or NTDETECT.COM file. If your computer is using Microsoft Windows 2000 and you are encountering the NTLDR error. Create the boot.ini file on the floppy diskette drive. Copy the NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM files from another computer using the same Operating System. Both of these files are located in the root directory of the primary hard disk drive. For example, C:\NTLDR and C:\NTDETECT.COM should be the locations of these files on many computers. You can get the various article on the how to make the boot.ini file on various computer support websites.

Please keep in mind that these files are hidden system files. Once these files have been copied to a floppy diskette reboot the computer and copy the NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM files to the root directory of the primary hard disk drive. Example of steps to be performed for using this command with the floppy disk drive is available on Microsoft online computer help forums.

Also in some of the online computer help forum it is clearly mentioned that this problem might occurred due to Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file. For this we have to edit the boot.ini on the root directory of the hard disk drive and verify that it is pointing to the correct location of your Windows Operating System and that the partitions are properly defined.

If you are getting this error message while you are attempting to upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP from Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME running FAT32 we have to use the System Transferred command using the floppy disk and once it is done we can reboot the system. If you are attempting to add a new hard disk drive to the computer make sure that drive is a blank drive. Adding a new hard disk drive to a computer that already has Windows installed on it may cause the NTLDR error to occur. If you are unsure if the new drive is blank or not try booting from a bootable diskette and format the new hard disk drive.

It’s possible your computer’s hard disk drive may have a corrupt boot sector and/or master boot record. These can be repaired through the Microsoft Windows Recovery console by running the fix boot and fixmbr commands. If you have tried each of the above recommendations that apply to your situation and you continue to experience this issue it is possible you may have a seriously corrupted version of Microsoft Windows. Therefore we would recommend you reinstall Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. If you are encountering this issue during your setup you may wish to completely erase your computer hard disk drive and all of its existing data and then install Microsoft Windows 2000 / Windows XP. This issue has been known to be caused by a loose or fault IDE/EIDE cable. If the above recommendation does not resolve your issue and your computer hard disk drive is using an IDE or EIDE interface. Verify the computer hard disk drive cable is firmly connected by disconnected and reconnecting the cable.

If the issue continues it is also a possibility that the computer has a faulty cable, contact any Onsite computer repair service that can try replacing the hard disk drive cable with another cable and/or a new cable.

Here are the different ways on how to speed up PC completely free:

1. Clean up disk space. Cleaning up disk space will help the computer operate faster. The Disk Cleanup tools will check for files that can be safely deleted. Usually, it checks the temporary files folder; recycle bin, cache and the like. It doesn’t take much for your computer to start behaving strangely and altogether unresponsive. As a matter of fact, all it really takes is a couple of errors clogging up your registry. Since the registry is basically the computer’s command center and it acquires all of the important information it needs from there, a few simple errors can really cause things to go haywire. Having said that, it is important to take certain steps in order to fix PC registry and get your computer back to a reliable, speedy condition.

Here are a few ways to recognize and repair a corrupt registry.

1) Eliminate the “possible” causes. You’ve got to make sure that the registry is 100% to blame for your PC sluggishness. This means going threw a wide array of frequently used files, internet browsers, and applications and making sure that the configurations are set-up correctly. Also, be sure that all unnecessary files, applications, and games are removed from the computer — These things take up valuable memory and PC resources. Remember to uninstall everything properly, as applications that are removed from the computer improperly are one of the leading causes of registry errors.

2) Run regular scans to search for malicious software. Viruses, spyware, and other malicious programs may be the cause of your PC sluggishness — either directly or indirectly by placing invalid keys in your registry. Perform the scans with the appropriate anti-virus and/or anti-spyware software and then remove all of the “infections”.

3) Use your computer as you normally would. If there is a significant improvement in the speed and performance of your PC, chances are that you fixed the problem. Repairing your user configurations and/or removing all of the malicious programs must have done the trick. However, if there is no improvement after using the two methods above, then there is a strong chance that the computer is suffering from a corrupt registry.

4) Run a registry scan. Registry cleaning software is undoubtedly the best way to remove errors from a corrupt registry. Not only can a reliable cleaner remove any anomalies safely and quickly, but it can also back-up the registry in case something vital is accidentally removed or deleted. If errors are indeed found, which is highly likely, the registry repair software will advise you on the best course of action to take.

When you fix your PC registry, you are basically improving your computer’s longterm health — and not only that, but you’re also helping to boost it’s overall performance and functionality. A few simple clicks with registry cleaning software and you get a faster, healthier PC. Honestly, what more could you ask for?
